Q. Why does Bookdog give me a silly warning about "System Events" whenever I log in? Answer: Because your system is usually too busy at login time. Answer: Do not add Bookdog to the Login Items on your Mac, and if you have, remove it.
- Bookdog should never be a Login Item.
- Bookwatchdog may be a Login Item. But you don't have to put it there; Bookdog will add it to the list if any of your Bookwatchdog preferences require it, and will remove it if you change your preferences so as to not require it.
- If you've got this all set correctly and still get the warning, usually it's -1712, the answer is to ignore it. This bug has been reported to Apple Engineering and it was reportedly fixed in Mac OS 10.5.0. But then it got worse in 10.5.1, and in 10.5.2 it seems to be fixed again. If you've got a Mac that really does it frequently, please send a support request. State your Bookdog version, Mac OS version and Mac model, RAM size, processor, and speed.
